Exotic Skin Handbags: Alligator and Crocodile. Ultimate Status Symbols to Wear and Collect.

The legacy of premier American designer brands of the 1940s-1960s period - most distinct in the history of American fashion - was connected to the history of immigration. During the course of the 20th century, the biggest American designers and craftsmen originally came from Europe to the U.S., where they found their ultimate American dream of successful entrepreneurship to come true.

Those names included Judith Leiber (Hungary), Charles Hahn and Lucille Hahn of Lucille de Paris (France), Martin Van Schaak (France), Nettie Rosenstein (Austria), Henry Cross of Mark Cross (Ireland), Ludwig Lederer of Lederer de Paris (Hungary, Austria, France), and others.

My book is a tribute to those talented visionaries who not only persevered in their adjustment to the new culture, but also succeeded as artists and professionals. I hope their names will be rescued from obscurity to become household names to new generations of fashionistas for years to come - to be sealed in the American fashion history for eternity.  And it is my hope that you will enjoy the book, our important collection of classic exotic leather handbags, and their history itself!
